What did you do over Winter Break?

My winter break was amazing!! I went back to my home country, Nigeria for the break. The break was much needed, the sunny weather craved, and my friends and family dearly missed. On my trip I went to this famous resort in my hometown of Cross River called Obudu Cattle Ranch. It was a nice cozy family event, where we spent New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The resort is surrounded by mountains, livestock, waterfalls, and fun recreational places such as pools, hot tubs, bonfires, and much more. The food that was served was exceptionally tasty and the live bands that played surprisingly good. Fun, festivities, and "pigging out" aside, this break helped me unwind from a stressful fall semester, and also prepare for this spring semester. I plan on being prepared, focused and less stressed this semester (code for 'not leaving things till the last minute'). I do hope i am inspired and motivated this semester to achieve all a's. I am going out of my comfort zone (the sciences) this semester and taking classes like art 101 (introduction to drawing), and en 122 (mythology), which so far are going pretty well, I’ll be informing you on any changes of that statement as the semester progresses. Welcome back all MC students, and good luck this semester. – Ekpa

So during Winter Break I played it smart and went to Florida, it's usually chilly during winter, just a winter jacket, but this time I was in for a surprise. It was unbelievably warm, I was wearing shorts all day - good thing a packed them just in case. But the last winter I was there I had to wear a hoodie and a jacket, but hey - I was not complaining. It was great though - I stayed till around the 6th, so I soaked up the sun, went to Sea World, did some clubbing, and just relaxed the rest of time. But then I remembered I had to come back to the cold, it was good while it lasted - I just wish the warmth followed me here. – Mike Sutherland

During winter break I had such an amazing trip to Puerto Rico! It was my return trip back from this past summer. The people are so welcoming, the food was fantastic, and the sun was shining! Traveling all over the world is something I can't wait to do once I’m done with school. – Suzie

Over the winter break I got a notice that I had passed all my first semester classes and that was enough for me haha – Mike Gordon

I spent my Winter Break working, hanging out with friends, writing transfer application, eating, and sleeping. It’s only a week into school and already I miss the excessive amounts of free time and sleep. - Cynthia
